Thomia in the Press

There has been quite a lot of media interest in Thomia – the launch even got about ten seconds on the TV news, to my astonishment. I won’t pretend I’m anything but delighted about all this, although I do feel a bit disconcerted at times, reading my own words repeated back to myself but not quite in the way I said them, and often carrying quite different implications from the ones I thought they had. One article even got a quote from Rohan Pethiyagoda mixed up with some words of mine, so it wasn’t quite clear who was saying what. But this sort of thing comes with the territory and grumbling doesn’t help. Anyway, for the delectation of readers of the Thomia Journal and subscribers to the now-nearly-defunct Thomia Mailing List, here are three features on the book and its author by, respectively, the Sunday Times, the Sunday Island and last Tuesday’s Ceylon Daily News.
