Thomia was launched last Tuesday at Barefoot Garden Cafe. My thanks to all who attended, including the two former wardens of S. Thomas’ College, Rev. Marc Billimoria and Prof. Indra de Soysa, who graced the occasion with their presence. Sadly, we didn't have paparazzi prowling the garden taking pictures of all the good and the great, so what we have here are mostly photos of friends. Still, I think they give a bit of an idea of how it all went down.

My grateful thanks, too, to everyone who helped make the event possible: in particular Mihiri Devendra, Sharni Jayawardena, Dominic Sansoni, Ruveka Attygalle Simon, Wasim of Barefoot Garden Cafe together with his efficient staff, and the representatives of the media who were kind enough to attend and cover the proceedings at short notice.

I understand a reasonably good time was had by all, though I'm afraid I was too busy signing books to really notice. My apologies to all who wanted to have a chat with me but didn't get the opportunity; I, too, would have loved a chat (and a drink) but it was all a bit hectic. Dominic thoughtfully saved a plate of assorted canapes for me to munch on afterwards, or I’d have gone hungry, too...

Did fairly well on book sales, too; we’ve more or less covered the print cost. The special offer is now over, I’m afraid, and Thomia is now selling at its normal retail price of Rs 24,990/– per copy.
