So... the entire first mailing of Thomia reached its customers in different parts of the world without a hitch. Only a couple of buyers who chose the sea-mail delivery option are still awaiting their books, and there is every reason to suppose that they, too, will receive them in the fullness of time.
Meanwhile, here’s a request to all our customers – not just in Australia, but in Lanka and all over the world: send me a photo of yourself, or someone you like, with your copy of Thomia. We’ll publish the most interesting photos on the this site as well as on the Thomia Facebook page, and perhaps in some other places, too. If you’re a bit shy, though, let us know and we’ll respect your preference by simply keeping the photo for the Thomia historical archives, the location of which is a closely guarded secret... NEW! Direct Sales to Customers in Australia
Since most of the overseas market for Thomia seems to be in Australia, I’m trying to set up a system for shipping copies to a central distribution point in that country and having them posted to buyers from there instead of directly from Lanka. That will take at least AU$20 off the delivered price per copy.
We need to secure 10-20 declared buyers, though, before we can affor to do this. So if you’re in Australia (or New Zealand, or PNG), would like to get hold of your personal first-edition, hardcover copy of Thomia – but have found the postage from Lanka a bit too steep – this could be your chance! Shoot off an email my friend Richard Roberts in Melbourne at rr2000@bigpond.net.au, or to me at gallebuck@yahoo.co.uk, and put yourself down as ‘interested’ in buying a copy. No obligation involved at this stage; whether you eventually decide to make a purchase will be entirely up to you.
The more of you sign up, the less costly each individual copy we ship is likely to be. In the meantime, here are some photos of happy customers for you to enjoy. Send more!
